Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has allowed the restart of a second natural gas offshore field following the US ceasefire with Iran.
The Ministry told UK-based energy company Energean on Thursday to restart the Karish field. This means the restart of production and operations of the Energean Power FPSO.
The FPSO has been closed since February 28, when the US-Israeli war with Iran began, due to safety concerns.
Energean stated that it was working to safely restart production and resume normal operations in line with its operating procedures.
Earlier this week, US supermajor Chevron resumed regular production at the Leviathan gas field off the coast of Haifa after a 33-day suspension due to the Iran conflict.
