Wood selected by Serica Energy to support Bruce Platform life extension

ABERDEEN – 2 September 2026 – Wood, a global leader in consulting, engineering and operations, has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) framework contract with Serica Energy to support the extension of the life of the Bruce platform in the UK North Sea.

Under the five-year framework contract, Wood will deliver a portfolio of engineering services covering engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning on the asset which will support the extension of production through to 2030 and beyond, while improving operational efficiency and reliability.

The portfolio will be delivered by a substantial multidisciplinary team of Wood personnel in Aberdeen and offshore, drawing on established asset knowledge to support operational continuity.

Steve Nicol, Chief Operating Officer of Operations at Wood, said: “This contract reflects the trust Serica Energy places in our ability to provide safe, predictable and integrated EPCC services. We will apply our deep asset knowledge and collaborative approach to support Serica’s long-term plans for the Bruce platform and help maximise value through reliable execution.”

Wood has partnered with Serica Energy since 2018, most recently bringing the Bruce flare gas recovery system into operation. This year, Wood will deliver several projects for Serica Energy, spanning project delivery, offshore construction and commissioning.
