Transocean Equinox reaches total depth on Juliet-1

Amplitude Energy reached total depth at the Juliet-1 exploration well offshore Victoria, Australia, on 7 September 2026, intersecting a gas-bearing interval in the primary Waarre C reservoir target.

The Transocean Equinox semisubmersible drilled the 8-1/2 in hole section to a total depth of 2,299 m TVDSS, penetrating the Waarre C sandstone at 2,129 m TVDSS.

Preliminary drilling and logging data recorded elevated gas readings and resistivity consistent with hydrocarbon presence across a gross gas-bearing interval of at least 60 m, including 49 m of interpreted high-quality net pay.

Juliet-1 is located in permit VIC/L24 in Commonwealth waters, adjacent to the Casino, Henry, Netherby pipeline system, and is part of Amplitude’s East Coast Supply Project. Amplitude operates the permit with a 50% interest alongside partner O.G. Energy. Wireline logging to collect pressure and sample data will follow in the coming days, after which Amplitude will decide whether to complete the well.
