Production from BP-operated Ginger gas field is earmarked for 2027
UK-based specialist EnerMech has won a contract from Norway’s Subsea7 to deliver pre-commissioning services for the Ginger subsea project offshore Trinidad & Tobago.
UK supermajor BP in March 2025 took a final investment decision to proceed with the Ginger shallow-water natural gas development.
The Subsea Integration Alliance, comprising Subsea7 and OneSubsea, was later awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from BP to develop the subsea systems for Ginger.
As part of the agreement announced on Thursday, EnerMech will provide pipeline and subsea pre-commissioning activities to support Ginger’s offshore infrastructure.
Under the contract, EnerMech will provide a fully integrated pre-commissioning package covering pipeline and subsea testing, flushing, hydrotesting, water filing, leak testing and commissioning support activities required to prepare the field’s subsea production system.
First gas from Ginger, which was discovered in 2019, is expected next year. At its peak, the project is expected to average gas production capacity of 62,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
BP operates Ginger with a 100% stake.
