The PBS consortium announces a contract extension for the continued delivery of General Maintenance and Operations Contract (GMOC) services across a large energy company’s assets in the Northern and Central parts of the North Sea.
The agreement represents a continuation of PBS’s successful delivery model and has been awarded for an initial 18-month term, with two optional one-year extension periods. This contract extension builds on the current GMOC, which runs through to May 2027, and will move into the extension period from that point, securing continuity of services until at least November 2028, with the potential to extend through 2030.
Semco Maritime will deploy approximately 300 skilled and experienced onshore and offshore staff to provide integrated operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, facilities management and access solutions.
“We are delighted to have secured this extension, an award which reflects a six-year relationship built on consistent performance and a strong partnership approach with our client. We’re proud of the PBS team and the contribution everyone has played in delivering this outcome. PBS now supports a broad portfolio, offshore and onshore, across the UK and internationally. These opportunities provide stability for our workforce and reflect the value we deliver through consistent, high-quality delivery across complex operating environments,” says Adam Mason, PBS GMOC Director.
The contract was originally awarded in 2020 and has seen PBS – a consortium comprising Ponticelli UK, Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, and Semco Maritime, headquartered in Aberdeen – evolve into a leading provider of integrated maintenance and operations support in the UK Continental Shelf. PBS have recently expanded its UK presence with a new office in Teesside, strengthening its ability to support clients across both traditional energy hubs and emerging industrial clusters. This complements its established Aberdeen base, which continues to act as a centre of excellence for delivery and international support.
“This contract extension is an important milestone for the PBS consortium and us at Semco Maritime. We are pleased that our client continues to entrust the entire PBS team with the delivery of safe and efficient GMOC service in the years ahead. We have established a strong professional relationship among the consortium partners and with the client, and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration further through the delivery of highly skilled staff and first-class services going forward,” says Anders Benfeldt, Senior Vice President, Transitional Energies, Semco Maritime.
