Malaysia-based offshore vessel owner and operator Keyfield International has been awarded 13 new charter contracts worth RM229m ($55.7m), adding more work in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Middle East as it continues to broaden its regional footprint.
The new deals also carry extension options valued at a further RM41m ($10m). Together, they take Keyfield’s contract wins to 21 in the first half of 2026. Eight agreements were announced earlier in the year.
The company said the latest awards involve a mix of its own vessels and third-party tonnage supporting offshore oil and gas activity for petroleum arrangement contractors and other industry players across the three markets. The charters either have started or will begin in the second and third quarters of 2026.
Firm periods range from one month to 17 months, with optional extensions of up to five months. Keyfield said the contracts will strengthen earnings visibility through 2027.
The company’s CEO, Darren Kee Chit Huei, said the latest batch of work reflects the company’s effort to reduce dependence on Malaysia and spread its exposure across a wider set of markets.
“Diversifying beyond a single market is no longer just a growth strategy; it is a resilience strategy,” Kee said.
Keyfield said 12 of its 14 owned vessels are currently on hire, leaving just two units awaiting deployment. Those vessels are expected to enter service early in the second half of 2026, following customer inspections.
