Iraqi Drilling Company Completes Rehabilitation of Two Oil Wells in West Qurna and Zubair Fields

According to a company statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the work was carried out in implementation of the directives of Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi and under the supervision of the Director General of the Iraqi Drilling Company, Mohammed Hantoosh Asad Al-Azirjawi.

The statement said the company’s technical and engineering teams completed the rehabilitation of well WQ1-233 in the West Qurna/1 oil field at a depth of 2,536 metres, using the IDC-32 workover rig.

It added that the teams also completed the rehabilitation of well ZB-402 in the Zubair oil field at a depth of 3,511 metres, using the IDC-47 workover rig.

Al-Azirjawi stated that the achievement reflects the company’s continued implementation of well rehabilitation operations in accordance with its approved operational plans and in line with the Ministry of Oil’s strategy to support production and enhance operational efficiency across Iraq’s oil fields. He affirmed the company’s commitment to deploying its technical capabilities and national expertise to complete projects to the required quality standards and within the specified timelines.

He further noted that the achievement forms part of the company’s operational programme to execute well rehabilitation projects in accordance with the highest technical standards, contributing to improved operational efficiency and supporting the Ministry of Oil’s plans to expand and sustain oil production.
