Halliburton acquires Norway’s Keystone AS to expand digital well construction software

Halliburton

Halliburton has acquired Keystone AS, a Norway-based software company that develops digital tools for well planning and execution. The company said the deal adds an AI-native digital workflow to Halliburton Landmark’s drilling and completion portfolio, connecting well planning with execution at the rig.

Keystone’s applications cover the well life cycle, including well planning and engineering, rig operations, logistics, equipment management and reporting. Its core products are SmartHUB, an integration layer; OPEN, a digital workflow for well planning and execution; and RMS, a rig management and execution platform. Halliburton said the technology complements Landmark’s existing Digital Well Program application and Agile Asset Management offerings, extending its well-delivery tools from the office to the rig.

“Keystone’s proven technology strengthens Halliburton Landmark’s delivery of integrated digital workflows that connect well plans with execution,” said Tony Antoun, senior vice president, Halliburton Landmark. “Together, we can apply data, science, and AI to automate workflows, sharpen decisions, and optimize well construction.”

Antoun added that the acquisition advances Landmark’s “Open by Design” approach to connecting applications across customers’ digital ecosystems.
