KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Global Energy Network (GEN) has officially expanded its international operational footprint with the opening of a new regional base in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The strategic expansion directly strengthens the organization’s business intelligence, data verification, and asset tracking capabilities across Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing oil, gas, and energy transition sectors.
Along with establishing local market intelligence operations, Global Energy Network will distribute its industry-leading energy publication directly across Kuala Lumpur and the wider Malaysian energy market.
The publication forms a key component of the broader GEN Intel platform, the organization’s flagship intelligence ecosystem that delivers market research, corporate analysis, and live asset tracking. This includes GEN Project Atlas, the platform’s proprietary database tracking major energy developments worldwide.
To lead the new Malaysian operations, Global Energy Network has appointed Adoone Ahmad as Country Manager. Ahmad brings extensive regional energy sector experience to the role, having previously served as Business Development Manager at the Energy Industries Council (EIC) and as Sales & Events Manager at maritime and offshore services group Halim Mazmin Berhad. In her new capacity, Ahmad will oversee market intelligence operations, publication distribution, operator and contractor relations, and strategic asset tracking across Southeast Asia.
The Kuala Lumpur base will work in close coordination with GEN’s Australasia hub in Perth, Australia, led by Emma Davidson, Director of Australasia. The joint operational model will enable cross-border asset tracking, shared analytical resources, and integrated regional intelligence covering major upstream, midstream, and subsea developments across the Asia-Pacific region.
Adoone Ahmad, Country Manager for Malaysia, noted that establishing a dedicated presence in Kuala Lumpur places Global Energy Network at the center of Southeast Asia’s major energy developments. She emphasized that a direct footprint in Malaysia enhances the company’s ability to verify project milestones, distribute market intelligence, track active contracts, and deliver real-time asset data directly from the region’s core operating hubs.
Emma Davidson, Director of Australasia, highlighted that the Kuala Lumpur base serves as a vital extension of GEN’s Asia-Pacific strategy. She added that working closely alongside the Perth office gives the network complete regional coverage, allowing teams to seamlessly track cross-border projects, major field redevelopments, and capital allocation across both Southeast Asia and Australasia.
The expansion will directly enhance GEN Intel’s global coverage, broadening live tracking of Final Investment Decisions (FIDs), contract awards, platform modifications, and subsea campaigns across the region.
