ExxonMobil Canada has awarded a rig contract to Seadrill for at least one well in the Newfoundland offshore next year.
The company tweeted out the news yesterday.
ExxonMobil Canada is in the planning stages for an exploration program that will see the West Aquarius mobile offshore drilling unit drill at least one well in 2019.
The company says additional wells may be drilled under the agreement and they’re continuing to work with regulators for all the necessary approvals.
