SLB OneSubsea wins rights to provide large umbilical system for Kutei North Hub
SLB OneSubsea has been awarded an umbilical contract by Eni for the Kutei North Hub project in Indonesia, the offshore joint venture said Thursday.
SLB OneSubsea – a joint venture of SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7 – said the total weight will make it one of the largest umbilical systems in the industry to date. The system will weigh about 6700 tonnes in total and will be designed to handle pressures of 10,000 pounds per square inch (psi).
When contacted by Upstream, SLB OneSubsea declined to reveal the value of the contract.
The deal was handed out by Eni North Ganal Ltd, a subsidiary of Searah Ltd, which itself is a joint venture between Eni and Petronas.
SLB OneSubsea said it will provide 94.6 kilometres of umbilical systems for water depths of up to 2200 metres.
Eni reached a final investment decision (FID) on the Kutei North Hub in March.
Located offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia, Kutei North will consist of 16 producing wells that will connect to a new floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
Italian contractor Saipem and partner Tripatra Engineers and Constructors are set to build the FPSO for Kutei North.
