Norwegian offshore contractor DOF has secured a transport and installation contract covering a floating offshore wind development in the North Sea.
The company has not identified the client or project, but said its scope stretches from inshore marine work through to installation of the floating turbines and export cables. Engineering is already underway.
DOF will handle the pre-lay of the mooring system, tow-out and installation of the floating offshore wind turbines and installation of both dynamic and static export cables. The company has yet to disclose the vessels that will carry out the campaign, its timing or the contract value.
The package marks another step in DOF’s push beyond its traditional subsea and offshore oil and gas work into renewables, combining vessel, mooring and subsea cable capabilities under a single installation scope.
The Oslo-listed group has been building up its cable workload alongside its offshore construction business. Earlier this year, it secured a substantial contract from Norwegian grid operator Statnett to replace four high-voltage subsea cables across Ofotfjorden, with the main offshore campaign set for 2027.
