Chevron may leave Venezuela after nearly 100 years over regime fight
Chevron’s relationship with Venezuela may come crashing to a halt after nearly 100 years as a result of the Venezuelan president’s regime’s fight with the U.S.
Chevron is the last major U.S oil company still operating in the country.
It could be forced to leave unless U.S. officials extend sanction waivers scheduled to expire on July 27.
The loss of Chevron’s expertise and resources would only make matters worse for Venezuela’s oil industry.
It’s already close to collapse under President Nicolás Maduro.
Several other major American companies have retreated from the chaos in Venezuela in recent years.
