Joe Jackson, who joined C-Kore (part of the Motive Offshore Group) in 2023 as the company’s first engineering apprentice, has been honoured with The Merchant Adventurers’ Apprenticeship Award for his work as a Level 3 Apprentice Assembly and Test Engineer.
This prestigious award, in partnership with York College and Derwent Training, recognises an outstanding apprentice and aims to motivate apprentices to not only complete their qualification, but to excel in their chosen field and maximise their opportunities.
Joe is part of the production team at C-Kore, responsible for the assembly, testing, and maintenance of its comprehensive range of subsea tools, ensuring every asset meets the highest quality standards. His role covers mechanical assembly processes and electrical testing, and he gained valuable exposure to R&D, shadowing the team to learn how new prototype products are developed.
Starting the apprenticeship with no prior industry experience, Joe has gone from strength to strength, impressing the team with his rapid technical skill development, strong work ethic, and natural aptitude for hands-on problem-solving.
Driven by Joe’s impressive progress, C-Kore has been inspired to expand its apprenticeship program. Today, a trusted and well-rounded technician, Joe comes full circle, now acting as a mentor to the new apprentice.
