A leading Dundee-based hydraulics and fluid management specialist has significantly uplevelled its ability to support the Australian defence sector, thanks to the signing of two important MOUs.
Saturn Fluid Engineering has inked an agreement with Cairns-based manufacturer Northern Chemicals to collaborate on the delivery of integrated engineering and chemical solutions for Australia’s defence, maritime and industrial sectors.
The partnership brings together Saturn’s specialist expertise in fluid system cleaning, flushing, passivation, technical assurance, and engineering support with Northern Chemicals’ ISO 9001-certified manufacturing, blending, and chemical supply capability.
The company has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cooper Fluid Systems (CFS) to support opportunities in maritime production programs, surface and sub-surface vessel sustainment, bespoke engineered solutions and infrastructure and industrial support activities throughout the country.
The collaboration unites Saturn FE’s specialised expertise in hydraulic and fluid management services with CFS’s national footprint and established capability across hydraulic, lubrication, fluid dispensing and refuelling solutions.
The alliances will allow the joint pursuit and delivery of new opportunities across defence, maritime and industrial markets nationally, while exploring opportunities for product development, chemical manufacturing, technical services, and capability enhancement.
Importantly, the partnerships represent a significant boost to Australia’s maritime industrial capability in surface and sub-surface programs, strengthening sovereign capacity in areas critical to shipbuilding, sustainment, operational readiness and long-term industrial resilience.
