Norwegian operators take up drilling options for Odfjell rigs

Wintershall Dea Norge has exercised options to extend Odfjell Drilling’s platform drilling services contract on the Brage platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract, first awarded in December 2016, will now go through December 2024.

Another Norwegian client, Equinor, has exercised options for two further wells with the semisubmersible Deepsea Atlantic. Preparations should start after the rig has completed its current work scope in 1Q 2021, with similar commercial terms to those secured under Odfjell’s recently awarded Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 development drilling contract.
