Subsea7 has secured a contract worth between $50m and $150m from Brunei Shell Petroleum for a pipeline replacement project offshore Brunei.
The Oslo-listed contractor will handle the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of subsea pipelines and riser systems serving offshore assets in water depths of up to 50 m.
Engineering and project management work will start immediately from Subsea7’s Kuala Lumpur office, supported by teams in Perth, Paris and other locations.
The company did not disclose the pipeline lengths, offshore campaign schedule or vessels earmarked for the work.
The award extends a relationship between Subsea7 and Brunei Shell Petroleum dating back to 2018.
Subsea7 has added several sizeable projects to its backlog this year. In May, it landed a $150m to $300m contract covering the Goliat gas export project in the Barents Sea, while an April award from Petrobras for the Sépia 2 development off Brazil was valued at more than $1.25bn. The company has also secured engineering and installation work for Murphy’s String Music development in the US Gulf.
