MTL highlights solution for high-temperature FPSO tank inspections

Marine Technical Limits (MTL) is highlighting the role of its Ventilation & Power Skid (VPS) in supporting inspection, maintenance and repair activities in challenging FPSO environments.

In many operating regions, elevated temperatures within cargo tanks can create difficult conditions for inspection and repair campaigns. Reduced effective working time and the need to maintain safe working environments can place additional pressure on project schedules, particularly during tank-entry and hot-work activities.

Drawing on extensive FPSO repair experience, MTL developed the VPS to help operators address these challenges. The system combines ventilation, power distribution and atmospheric monitoring within a single integrated unit, supporting safer and more efficient confined-space operations offshore.

Designed to support tank inspection, cleaning and repair activities, the VPS helps create controlled working environments while assisting operators in maintaining operational continuity. By improving ventilation and environmental control within cargo tanks, the system can help reduce downtime associated with critical maintenance campaigns while supporting workforce safety and productivity.

The VPS forms part of MTL’s wider asset integrity and repair offering, developed to support offshore operators undertaking complex inspection and maintenance scopes in demanding environments.
