As Head of Commercial Development at Evolve, Brayden Sutherland spends her time speaking with businesses across a wide range of sectors. Here, she discusses the technology challenges organisations are facing today, the conversations she’s having with clients, and how the right digital solutions can make a real difference.
What does your role at Evolve involve?
My role is centred around helping businesses understand how technology can support their goals. Every organisation is different, so it’s about taking the time to understand their challenges before recommending the right solution.
At Evolve, we help businesses simplify technology. Whether that’s implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, improving reporting through Business Intelligence, automating manual tasks with Robotic Process Automation (RPA), building solutions with the Microsoft Power Platform, or providing reliable Managed IT Support, our aim is always the same – to help businesses work smarter and grow with confidence.
What conversations are you having with businesses at the moment?
Interestingly, the challenges are remarkably similar across different industries.
Many businesses are struggling with disconnected systems, poor reporting, manual processes that waste valuable time, legacy software that’s holding them back, increasing security concerns, and figuring out how AI can genuinely add value rather than becoming another buzzword.
These issues all impact efficiency, decision-making and growth, so they’re naturally becoming priorities for leadership teams.
How does Evolve help organisations overcome those challenges?
We focus on creating technology that works together rather than in silos.
That could mean integrating multiple platforms, so teams are working from one connected source of truth, improving reporting so leadership teams have reliable data, automating repetitive processes, strengthening cyber security and governance, or modernising legacy applications that no longer meet the needs of the business.
When businesses have connected systems and trusted data, they’re able to make faster decisions, improve productivity, and create a much better experience for both employees and customers.
AI is a huge topic right now. What are your thoughts?
It’s one of the biggest conversations I’m having with clients.
There’s a lot of excitement around AI, but also plenty of uncertainty. My advice is always to focus on practical applications rather than adopting AI for the sake of it.
The organisations seeing the greatest success are identifying specific processes where AI or automation can save time, improve consistency, or support better decision-making. When it’s implemented with a clear business objective, it delivers real value.
What makes Evolve different?
For me, it’s our approach.
We’re not interested in recommending technology for the sake of it. We take the time to understand how a business operates, where the challenges are, and what success looks like before proposing a solution.
Digital transformation isn’t just about implementing new software – it’s about helping businesses become more efficient, more connected, and better equipped for the future. That’s the mindset we bring to every conversation.
What would you say to a business that’s thinking about digital transformation?
You don’t need to have all the answers before starting.
Digital transformation doesn’t always mean replacing every system overnight. Often, it’s about taking small, strategic steps that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and create a stronger foundation for future growth.
The important thing is to start the conversation. Once you understand where the biggest opportunities are, you can build a roadmap that delivers measurable business value over time.
At Evolve, we’re here to help businesses navigate that journey – whether it’s solving an immediate operational challenge or planning for long-term growth through technology.
