Well and reservoir management specialist, Exceed – a Kent Company, has announced the completion of its first Australian operation, marking an important step in the company’s international growth and demonstrating the regional transferability of its industry-renowned well decommissioning expertise.
Working on behalf of Hibiscus, Exceed delivered full well management for the Phase 3 decommissioning of the West Seahorse-3 and Wardie-1 wells, managing regulatory submissions and operational planning as well as overseeing execution of offshore operations.
The campaign was carried out onboard the Fugro Etive, as part of its wider multi-client campaign in the Bass Strait region.
Exceed’s Perth-based Senior Wells Engineer Neal Copland comments: “Exceed is well-versed in the benefits a multi-client P&A campaign model can bring to our clients, having completed multiple North Sea contracts on this basis. By incorporating this project into Fugro’s broader campaign, significant cost efficiencies were realised, whilst also reducing overall environmental impact.
“As with any decommissioning workscope, collaboration was key in the successful delivery of the project, with Fugro enabling a multi-client campaign in the region to be realised, and James Fisher contributing to the overall efficiency of the project via its abrasive wellhead severance technology, which was available in the region following a recent deployment on an ongoing decommissioning campaign.”
